From here we easily covered places like Sangla, Kamru Village, Chitkul, and Batseri without changing stay again and again. Travel becomes easier and more relaxed when you stay at one place and explore nearby destinations.
During the day we used to visit different villages, but we spent evenings in Rakchham and those moments were probably the most memorable.
Sitting by the Baspa River in the evening, making Maggie there, and feeling that natural silence… this was an experience that you can never get in any hotel or café. The sound of the river, the cold air, and the mountain view in front all together create a perfect peaceful atmosphere.
Another strong point of Rakchham is its peaceful environment. Compared to Batseri and Sangla, the tourist rush here is much less. You get that peace here which has now become difficult to find in many popular spots of Himachal.
We also talked to local people here, and they told us that a proper system is followed to keep the village clean and organized. There is a local committee that ensures no litter is spread in the village and the environment remains safe.
